Every employment relationship sooner or later comes to an end. How we end that relationship depends, to a large extent, on us.
Leaving a job on good terms saves us a lot of headaches, leaves us open doors for other times and allows us to obtain good work references for the future.
If we were well treated and appreciated as professionals, always thank the experience and opportunity provided.
For all this we must always prioritize a good exit, which is given by common agreement between all parties.
If I am ending a bad employment relationship, I must take into account the cost benefit of initiating some legal action. If I suffered abuse and feel wronged, I should look for someone to advise me.
