The job interview (and the previous preparation)
Camila 26 de septiembre de 2025

What to keep in mind when we show up for the interview?
- It is important to arrive on schedule and take care of my appearance.
- The clothes must be clean and neat, they must be according to the place where I intend to work (formal or informal clothes).
- Neat hair, short beard, discreet makeup.
- My attitude should be calm and confident. Speak with confidence and sympathy. If I am offered something to drink, I accept and thank them.
- Look for information about the place before the interview so I can talk about what I liked and why I want to work there.
- Ask all the questions that are relevant to us, such as schedules, payments, benefits that they can offer me.
SOME COMMON QUESTIONS IN ANY JOB INTERVIEW
These are some questions that every person who is going to present themselves for a job interview should prepare since they are usually common regardless of the type of job to which they aspire.
We do not recommend the candidate to learn the answers by heart, but to think about what the most appropriate answers would be. Thus, at the time of the interview you will be able to respond with greater confidence and firmness which will facilitate the interviewer the task of assessing whether it is the ideal candidate.
– Can you define yourself in three words?
Choose three qualities that can be professional strengths for the work to be performed. Try to be original when choosing the 3 attributes. Explain each of the ideas a little, but without extending too much.
– What functions did you perform in your last job?
Make a description of the tasks performed and highlight those aspects that are common to the job to which you aspire so that the interviewer can see that you are suitable for the position.
– Why were you fired or left your last job?
If you currently have a job, why do you want to change companies and leave your current job? Criticism of previous companies or bosses should be avoided. We must highlight the personal ambitions that lead to looking for another job to evolve.
– Do you consider that you are a person who works well in a team?
Try to provide an original answer, for example, telling a personal experience that shows how you engage with the rest of the team to carry out the work more effectively.
– Why would you like to work with us and be part of our team?
To respond adequately, it will be necessary to have carried out an investigation prior to the interview, to know the company, as well as the job to which it is chosen.
– Where do you imagine yourself in about five years?
A realistic and not too ambitious answer must be given. The most recommended is to focus the answer on short-term career goals.
In many cases the key is not to be the best aspirant, but to be able to better communicate the skills you possess. Therefore, it is important to prepare for the interview, obtain as much information as possible about the company that offers the job vacancy, and think about possible questions that may arise. It is essential that the person does not lie, is honest and clear. Be motivated, positive and eager to share your professional life with the team.
